If there is 1 thing about Miranda Hobbes you should know, it’s her penchant for food. She guzzles Chinese takeaway and pizzas without a second thought. With her distinct flaming red flyaway hair, she’s a pragmatic city lawyer with a big heart. Played by Cynthia Nixon, Miranda is the demure and sensitive woman who knows what she wants but just has a little difficulty finding it.
This Harvard-educated lawyer is very much the straight talking person. Never one to mince her words, her bluntness can be painful but that’s one of her traits that fans love. Beyond that tough-as-nails exterior, lies a soul who wants to be convinced that love does exist.
Just when she found a friend in Steve Brady (David Eigenberg), a soft-spoken bartender, she spoils it by sleeping with him and ends up getting pregnant. Afraid she might never have a chance to have a child again, she decides to keep the baby.
Steve is a common fixture in her life and just when she thought she doesn’t need him in her life anymore, Miranda soon discovers that she feels more for baby Brady’s father than just plain friendship. It takes her almost 2 seasons to find that out.
Finally, the cynical Miranda professes her love to Steve and is surprised that he feels the same. Aw… it’s time she gets payback for baring her soul. We applaud her determination and motherly spunkiness.
